2021 Annual Convention Registration Aug 06, 2021

2021 Annual Convention Registration

November 5-6 2021, Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral & Online

Below you’ll find information and links to help you prepare, including instructions for registration, hotel accommodation, and a link to information and resources.

Given the rapidly changing COVID-19 situation, the Annual Convention Planning Team has reached out to many groups to determine the best way to manage this year’s convention. We have taken counsel from the Standing Committee, consulted with local health officials, and sought feedback from you, the delegates.

This year’s annual convention will be a Hybrid Convention, allowing participants the option to attend in-person or online. However you decide to join us, we look forward to seeing you in November.

Read on for more details about this year’s annual convention.

Important! Individual Registration is Required

All delegates must register individually. Do not rely on your church’s leadership registering for you. You must register yourself.

Registration Deadline is October 10, 2021

COVID-19 Information and protocols

Our goal is to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants. We will follow the COVID-19 guidelines mandated by the authorities at the time of the annual convention and any added measures suggested by the Standing Committee. The arrangements in place at this time are as follows:

In-person

We require that you are fully vaccinated, willing, and able to comply with wearing a mask covering your nose and mouth for the duration of the annual convention. This requirement does not apply when you’re actively eating or drinking.

COVID-19 Liability waiver

Important. You will be asked to acknowledge that you have received, read, understand, and agree to the terms and conditions in the COVID-19 liability waiver. This will be sent via email, to all registered in-person participants, closer to the event date.

Online – Active participant

Please attend online if you are not fully vaccinated, immunocompromised, or uncomfortable attending in person. We will ensure that you have everything you need to participate successfully, including online training held in advance. A Help desk will also be operational during the annual convention to assist you.

Guests and visitors – Watch only

We invite those who are not delegates to watch from the comfort of your home. Registration is not required to watch online.

Change your mind?

We recognize that we’re pretty far out from our convention date and the situation is constantly changing. So, if your attendance preference changes (online vs. in-person) after registering, no problem; just let us know by October 8, 2021, by emailing Jamillah Duckett at events@diowestmo.org.

Annual Convention 2021 information and resources

Information and resources for our annual convention are available online. Reports, resolutions, and nominations will all be published online. Please visit the Annual Convention Website regularly for updates and further information.

WiFi is available at Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral to enable everyone present in-person to access all the relevant documents during the business session.

Hotel accommodation

Over our annual convention dates, downtown Kansas City is scheduled to be sold out, due to a large convention and a Kansas City Chiefs’ home game.  Hotel rates are expected to be high.  If you intend to reserve a hotel room, we strongly encourage you to secure your room reservation as soon as possible, by clicking here to enter your preferred hotel location and dates.  Please be advised that you may need to book outside the downtown area to get reasonable rates.
